Felipe de Borbón y Farnesio, Infante of Spain, Duke of Parma
After 1765. Oil on canvas. On display elsewhere
Felipe de Borbón y Farnesio, Infante of Spain, was the fourth son of Philip V and his second wife, Isabella Farnese. Founder of the House of Bourbon-Parma, he became Duke of Parmain in 1748. The painting partially reproduces the last portrait of the Duke, painted in the year of his death in 1765 by the French painter Laurent Pécheux, now in the National Gallery in Parma (inv. 2218).
