A sloping path opens out into the mountain, with the branches of a twisted bush hanging over its left edge. In the background and to the left, the outline of the church of Villerville and some buildings in the village can be seen. There is an overcast sky that is clearing up on the left. Several preparatory drawings for the profile of the bush are kept in the Prado’s collection (D005274, D005270, D005271 and D005273). The last of these drawings is the most similar to the bush and also shows the profile of the church tower with other buildings.
