Historical Composition
Late XVII century. Grey-brown wash, Ink on laid paper. Not on display
At the door of a palace or castle, a knight makes as if to receive a lady who has dismounted from a horse and who is accompanied by another knight wearing a crown. Warriors and beggars watch the scene. This drawing is a mediocre work, probably from the end of the XVIIth century. It is possibly a figure for a composition of a royal feast.
