Ignacio, son of the artist, in profile
1890. Oil on canvas. Not on display
The subject of children occupies a significant place in Ignacio Pinazo´s work. The portraits which he painted after the birth of his two sons José (1879) and Ignacio (1883) are a fundamental part of his production. In them, he documented the evolution of the two children. In this painting the portrayed person is Ignacio, who wears an open-shoulder shirt against a background of dark tones that refer to its Goyaesque ancestry.
