This painting depicts Juan Francisco Camacho de Alcorta (Cádiz 1817 – Madrid, 1896), politician and Minister of Finance under Amadeo of Savoy (1872) and under the government of Práxedes Mateo Sagasta (1874; 1883–1885). On his ministerial uniform, he holds the collar, grand cross and sash of the Order of Carlos III, the grand cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic and the Order of Villaviciosa of Portugal.
