This work is a copy of the anonymous portrait which was kept in the former collection of the Duke of Osuna. The person portrayed is Francisco de Borja y Aragón (Játiva, Valencia, 1510–Rome, 1572). 1st Marquis of Lombay, 4th Duke of Gandía and Viceroy of Catalonia (1539–1543). Third General of the Society of Jesus.
