Landscape
1890 - 1900. Oil on canvas.Not on display
From 1888 the landscape around the artist’s native village of Entrambasmestas (Cantabria) became a regular subject in his work, with a particular focus on the topography of this mountainous region. The yellow and ochre shades of the trees and dry grass suggest the onset of autumn, the season of particular tonal variety and the artist’s preferred one for painting.
