María Cristina de Borbón y Dos Sicilias (Palermo, Italy, 1806 – Le Havre, France, 1878). Queen consort of Spain. Fourth and last wife (1829) of King Ferdinand VII (1784–1833). She later married Fernando Muñoz (1808–1873), 1st Duke of Riansares, whose fortune came mainly from the slave trade and railway investments.
She wears the habit of the Virgin of Carmen as a votive offering for the healing of her husband, Ferdinand VII, from his attack of visceral gout (1832). The sash and cross of the female order of Maria Luisa encircles her breast.
