This is a preparatory drawing for the corresponding canvas in the Parish Church of Urrea de Gaén in Teruel. It depicts the saint on the left with his hands in prayer and facing the viewer. On the right, there is a figure of an executioner in the act of slitting the Saint’s throat. In the background, on the left, a friar is depicted with his back turned and arms raised, and on the right, there are two figures. Above, there is a group of angels in glory with a palm branch and a crown.
