Ca. 1877. Oil on panel. Not on display
In the foreground is an area covered with shrubs and bushes. Tree branches are on either side of the composition, which is centred on an esplanade or clearing devoid of vegetation and illuminated by the sun. Following a succession of light and dark stripes in the background, a pine forest is silhouetted against a cloud-covered sky.
