Portrait of a Lady
1880 - 1890. Black ink, Pencil on wove paper. Not on display
A number of the drawings by this painter – the son of Federico de Madrazo – in the Prado collection were made with a pen. Most of them are intimate sketches and therefore not signed. They all reveal his skill in this technique, which he learnt under the guidance of his brother-in-law Mariano Fortuny and in which he focused on facial features in order to capture expressions.
