Vecchi, Giovanni de (Attributed to)

Prophet and Sibyl

Second half of the XVI century. Wash, White lead, Pencil, Pencil ground, Grey-brown ink on grey paper

As Mena Marqués pointed out in her entry for the drawing, this study for part of the decoration of the nave of a church reflects the style of the Zuccari. Given the marked stylistic resemblance to the preceding drawing, a tentative attribution to the sixteenth-century Roman painter Giovanni de Vecchi is here proposed.
