Prophet and Sibyl

Second half of the XVI century. Wash, Pencil, Pencil ground, Grey-brown ink, White lead on grey paper.
Not on display

As Mena Marqués pointed out in her entry for the drawing, this study for part of the decoration of the nave of a church reflects the style of the Zuccari. Given the marked stylistic resemblance to the preceding drawing, a tentative attribution to the sixteenth-century Roman painter Giovanni de Vecchi is here proposed.
