Study of six heads of bearded elders
XVII century. Reed pen on laid paper. Not on display
The nature and the models are very similar to Castillo’s. However, a greater hardness and dryness of the line have led to doubts as to whether they are by his own hand.
Muller has associated them with other drawings of heads, one in the museum of Córdoba and another in unknown whereabouts. They undoubtedly belong to the same artist and display some of the models depicted in this drawing. It seems prudent to maintain the attribution, but with certain reservations.
