This is a preparatory drawing for the figure corresponding to the right side of the upper register of the fresco Apollo Protecting the Sciences and the Arts in the library of the Royal Palace of Madrid. The drawing depicts a female figure seated on a cloud, in right profile and with her head turned towards the left. She wears a tunic from the waist down and has a bare torso.
