Two Raised Arms and Part of a Leg

This is a preparatory drawing which studies the arms in detail, together with the position of the hands and a leg showing the knee. It is a study for the figure of the Young Angel (D000623) in the upper part of the central register of the fresco The Transfer of the Remains of Saint Eugene in the cloister of Toledo Cathedral. Three preparatory sketches for the fresco are extant: one in Toledo Cathedral, another in the Ena Collection in Zaragoza and the third in a private collection in Madrid.
