Flora López Castrillo

Madrid (Spain), 24.11.1878, doc. 1948

She was a Spanish painter, student of Antonio Muñoz Degraín and the Escuela Especial de Pintura in Madrid from 1920, where she specialized in artistic fan painting. Flora was not only a pupil but also a close friend of the master, who considered her his "only student," and shared the final years of his life as his most faithful follower.

She participated in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in 1910, where she received an honorable mention, and in 1912, where she was awarded a third medal for her work titled *Galatea*, although in the exhibition catalog it is listed as *Marina* (Source: Cuaderno de Sofonisba, https://cuadernodesofonisba.blogspot.com/2018/07/pintoras-en-el-prado-in-out-iv.html).
