Those pleasures have been enjoyed by very few here. Only those of us in the night shift, because during the daytime there were too many people. Often with my friend David, may he rest in peace. I'm glad to mention him. He was a cultivated man and I often went with him. I liked to tell him, "Let's go look at this painting." He was very peaceful, a great individual, one of the best I've known. We had a great time. I had the best relationship and spent so many hours with him, David Rodríguez. Unfortunately he died young. A good person.
Here you could grant yourself the pleasure of saying, "I'm going to stop by and see Las Meninas" just because you felt like looking at the painting that night. You sat down on the bench, gave notice to the people at the Console and that was it. I have pictures of me sitting down staring at Las Meninas at night. Jesús Araque said, "I'm going to take your picture." "Please do." And they gave me a set of pictures. There's Araque. You can ask him if you know who he is.
I got my picture taken contemplating Las Meninas. Not something everybody can say.
He has worked at the Museum for the Night Surveillance Service for more than three decades.
