Our current king came with his class when he was 6 or 7. A friend called him to give him some sweets and he took them right away. Then he had to run up the stairs because he had fallen behind.
The relationship between the Royal Family and the Prado Museum was quite direct.
One of my first anecdotes was with the King of Spain when they went to see the exhibition at the Palace of Velázquez. I was in the first hall. We were told to stay after the exhibition closed because some visitors were coming, but they didn't tell us who they were. The door opened and I saw King Juan Carlos walking straight towards me. I moved back against the wall. He was coming to shake our hands and we had been there waiting to see who came in through the door. Those things happened…
She joined the Museum after passing a state exam in 1977, being one of the first women to belong to the Special Corps of Junior Officials, then going on to provide clerical support.
