Copy of the Mona Lisa
The Museo Nacional del Prado doesn’t have any works by Leonardo but it does have some some important examples by his earliest pupils, collaborators and followers, including the oldest copy of the Mona Lisa.
Ana González Mozo, Senior Technician of Museums in the Prado’s Conservation Department, David García Cueto, Head of the Department of Italian and French Painting until 1800 at the Museo Nacional del Prado and Philippe Walter, Director of the Molecular Archaeology Laboratory at the Sorbonne, comment on the most fascinating details of the technical study of this work.
