The Museo del Prado and the AXA Foundation present Joining Hands. Sculpture and Colour in the Spanish Golden Age.
The exhibition offers an opportunity to reflect on the phenomenon and success of polychrome sculpture that filled the churches of the Spanish Golden Age. Bringing together almost one hundred works by leading artists such as Gaspar Becerra, Alonso Berruguete, Gregorio Fernández, Damián Forment, Juan de Juni, Francisco Salzillo, Juan Martínez Montañés and Luisa Roldán, the exhibition also includes paintings and prints.
The press conference took place at 11.00 a.m. on 18 November 2024 in the Auditorium of the Museo Nacional del Prado, located in the Jerónimos Building, and featured contributions from:
