This is a preparatory drawing for a figure in the lower-right corner of the fresco The Prison Sentence of Saint Eulogius in the cloister of Toledo Cathedral, which has a preparatory sketch. In the Museo del Prado, there are other drawings for the same fresco and sketch.

The figure is depicted standing and in left profile, wearing a djellaba. His arms are outstretched. The study of the clothing is very thorough.
