This is a preparatory drawing for two figures on the left side of the midground that studies the upper extremities for the fresco The Imprisonment of Saint Eulogius located in the cloister of Toledo Cathedral, where a preparatory sketch is kept. The Museo del Prado keeps other related drawings and a related sketch. This is a study of two arms facing upwards with their hands joined in prayer, and two arms facing downwards with one hand crossed over the other.
