Portrait to the left, almost frontal, of the painter Jan Brueghel the Elder (1568-1625). Engraving in etching focuses attention on the head and his right hand that picks up his cloak. The rest of the body silhouetted. The background hatching was added later. It is an inverted copy of the canvas at the Alte Pinakothek in Munich attributed to van Dyck. The print is part of the series Iconographie ou vies des hommes illustres du XVII siècle.
