Rubens and the Flemish Baroque Artists. Collections of the Museo del Prado
CaixaFórum Barcelona. Barcelona 5/29/2025 - 9/21/2025
The exhibition Rubens and the Flemish Baroque Artists. Collections of the Museo del Prado shows the creative force of the leading exponent of the Flemish Baroque in dialogue with other prominent artists of his time, like Van Dyck, Jordaens and Brueghel, through sixty-two works from the Prado’s collections.
This is the sixth exhibition co-organised by the “la Caixa” Foundation and the Museo Nacional del Prado at CaixaForum Barcelona, following Goya. Lights and Shadows (2012), The Captive Beauty. Small Treasures at the Prado Museum (2014), Velázquez and the Golden Age (2018–2019), Art and Myth. Gods at the Prado (2018–2023) and 1800s: The Century of the Portrait. Collections of the Museo del Prado. From Enlightenment to Modernity (2023–2024). The two institutions have been strategic partners since 2011, with the aim of making part of the rich artistic heritage held at the Prado available to different audiences.
