Miguel Zugaza: A Strategist
Gabriele Finaldi, Assistant Director of Conservation and Research, 2002-2015Miguel Zugaza: A Strategist
Gabriele Finaldi, Assistant Director of Conservation and Research, 2002-2015
I have always regarded Miguel Zugaza as a great planner, a strategist who understands the direction in which he wants to lead the Museum and who carefully prepares the ground in advance so that the Museum’s goals can be achieved. I saw this from the very beginning, and I have continued to observe this down to the present day. Having a Director with such a clear vision has given me a great sense of security, as the Director of Curatorship for the Museum’s collection.
Assistant Director of Conservation and Research at the Museum from 2002 to 2015, year in which he was appointed director of The National Gallery in London. At the Museo del Prado he assumed responsibility for the collections, research projects, restoration projects and exhibitions related to the same.
