The creation of the Friends of the Prado Museum Foundation was extremely important because it helped to establish a relationship between the Museum and society. I am one of the founding members who signed the Protocol in Hall 12 at the Museum, together with Diego Angulo, Alfonso Pérez Sánchez, … In the beginning, there weren’t that many members who joined, but from the very beginning they began to donate works, organise conference cycles and initiate a series of activities that have become increasingly wide-ranging over the years, until they now make up a considerable part of the Museum’s activities. They are the ones who finance the Magazine Bulletin for the Museo del Prado, the ones who pay for the conferences … a whole series of things that are extremely important for the Museum. They also stage exhibitions, Guest Works. In short, many things.
