The role of a trustee

The Trustees are not the Museum Director. The Director manages everything, but the role of the Trustees is to verify that the Museum is going in the right direction. Those things are done in accordance with the Museum’s principles. And that’s all. They also help a little with money. The budget is not entirely covered by the Government’s allocation, which is why it’s important for the Friends of the Prado, for companies, for all members of the public, for all the inhabitants of Madrid and for all Spaniards to establish a relationship with the Museum, as if they were dealing with a young child. They must understand that the Museum is essential to the life of the country and to their own lives.
