A group of eighteenth-century reliefs that were never installed in the Royal Palace

Live video with Leticia Azcue, Head of the Collection of Sculpture from 1700 onwards and Decorative Arts at the Museo del Prado, and Elisa Andueza (@elisa.andueza), Museo del Prado fellow at María Cristina Masaveu Peterson Foundation (@fundacionmcmp) in Digital Development, on the group of 44 marble reliefs or medallions commissioned by Ferdinand VI for the Principal Gallery of the New Royal Palace in Madrid, with an iconographic programme devised by the Benedictine friar Martín Sarmiento.

You can access the study of this group carried out by Leticia Azcue on the occasion of the refurbishment of the south wing of the second floor of the Museo del Prado via the new microsite available at museodelprado.es.
