This is a preparatory drawing for the figure of an angel in the upper part of the central register of the cupola interior fresco Regina Apostolorum, painted in 1781 and located in the nave on the left side of the Holy Chapel of the Basílica del Pilar in Zaragoza. Two preparatory sketches (one of them in grisaille) are kept in the Museo Diocesano in Zaragoza. In the museum, there are several preparatory drawings for the same fresco. The angel is depicted in a flying gesture with his arms raised and in a foreshortened view from below. The study of the garment is very thorough.
