Angels for an Immaculate Conception
XVII century. Grey-brown wash, Pencil, Pencil ground on laid paper. Not on display
The scene depicts a study of angels. Two seraphim fly against a background of clouds. In the upper part, there is a cherub holding an olive branch in his left hand. In the foreground, two other cherubim hold flowers.
It is very characteristic of his style, especially the cherubim who frequently appear in his compositions of the Immaculate Conception.
