This is a preparatory drawing for the figure in the lower-right part of the fresco The Miracle or Accusation of Saint Casilda in the cloister of Toledo Cathedral. There is one preparatory sketch in Toledo Cathedral and another in the Ena Collection in Zaragoza. The Museo del Prado keeps other related drawings for the same fresco.

The figure is depicted standing, facing forwards, with his head lowered and his hands joined. The study is very thorough.
