Cesáreo María Sáenz y de la Barrera Rodríguez y Martín de Villaescusa (Cádiz, 26-02-1785) was a Senator for the province of Granada between 1843 and 1844 and secretary and director of the Royal Company of the Philippines. He married Amparo Romero (P04797). The Museo del Prado has a portrait of her which pairs up with this one.

In the portrait, Cesáreo María Sáenz wears the uniform of a royal secretary. He wears the commandery of the Order of Leopold of Belgium around his neck and on his chest the badge of commander of the Order of Charles III, the simple cross of Charles III and other decorations on a pin.
