Child angels flying
XVIII century. White chalk, Red chalk on grey paper. Not on display
This is a very thorough preparatory drawing, almost in its definitive version. It is intended for the group of little angels who expel the Lie in the fresco Time Discovering the Truth, painted in what is now called the antechamber of Queen María Cristina in the Palacio Real in Madrid.
These half-naked, winged child angels are depicted flying and grasping lightning bolts with their right hands.
