This painting depicts the Casa del Sordo (House of the Deaf) in Madrid. This was an Estate and country house where the painter Francisco de Goya lived. It is located on the outskirts of the city, on the right bank of the Manzanares River, near the Segovia Bridge and at the start of the road to the hermitage of San Isidro.
