Toothbrush from the Travel Toiletry Case Belonging to Ferdinand VII, King of Spain
1820 - 1825. Silver, Natural fiber, Wood.Room 039A
This gilt silver toothbrush was part of the toiletry bag containing various objects related to grooming. Although it is not documented in the inventory at the time of the King’s death, it seems that it may have been a gift to Ferdinand VII, King of Spain, since this type of case became very common throughout the 19th century. Given the characteristics of the pieces that comprise it, it could be a French work produced between 1820–25. Therefore, it would fit within the years of his reign.
