Washbasin from the Travel Toiletry Case Belonging to Ferdinand VII, King of Spain
1820 - 1825. Silver.Room 039A
This washbasin is part of the toiletry case containing various objects related to grooming (O002763). Although it is not documented in the inventory at the time of the King’s death, it seems that it may have been a gift to Ferdinand VII, King of Spain, since this type of case became very common throughout the 19th century. Given the characteristics of the pieces that comprise it, it could be a French work produced between 1820–25.
