1982. Photography and restoration at the Casón

Following the arrival of Guernica, in 1982 the Casón’s building was slightly reorganised. When the top floor was remodelled some small studios were created in the remaining spaces next to the roof terraces. These were the restoration and photography studios. The two photographers working in the photography studio were Carlos Manso and Manolo Olivares. In the early years I remember that Carlos Manso’s father was also there. When I met him he was already very elderly and I think he no longer worked at the Museum but as his son was in the studio he used to come every day like another employee. In the restoration studio there was only Eva Perales, who was entirely and exclusively responsible by herself for the 19th century.
