The staff was so limited that, for conferences, the brigade set up chairs with the electricians in Hall 16B, where many conferences have been delivered. The conference people would set up a screen, a projector and we would pass them the slides in Hall 16B. Then the chairs and the table would be gathered together, and the room would be prepared for the following day. This was the procedure for conferences, concerts and even for prize-giving ceremonies. All of this took place in the Museo del Prado. There was a period in which various concerts were held at the Museum, organised by, I don’t remember … either the Friends of the Museum or the Board of Trustees. These functions took place in this hall, and I remember one with Montserrat Caballé, who asked for the air-conditioning to be turned off, because it was terrible for her voice. And so the air-conditioning was turned off when the concert took place so that she could perform. In fact, the concert was held in Hall 16B and not in the Functions Hall. Bear in mind that Hall 16B has a very good reverberation, so that it can be used as a functions room. So she gave the concert without a microphone or anything.
He began working at the Museum as an elevator operator, and he has been an electrician there since 1988.
