I’m going to move on to 19th-century painting as I was so involved with it at the Casón. For example, there’s Martín Rico’s The Mouth of the Bidasoa, which is a marvel with those lovely skies. Also the Fortunys, which we saw recently in the exhibition [2018] and all the history paintings. I love them. And apart from Van der Weyden’s Descent everything by the Flemish Primitives is a marvel; those little Virgins in them... They’re exquisite paintings. I don’t know which one I’d take home. Maybe one that’s not very well known or looked at; Mantegna, for example, who was also a painter of small works. They’re all so lovely!
She worked at the Museo del Prado as a gallery attendant from 1990 to 2013. She also worked for some time at the information desk and at the admissions desk.
