Very similar to how it was when I was 14 and visited it for the first time. It was a museum with little space, few floors and a modest budget. So there we were and that was the reality we faced. I also found a foundation in the same situation. We had 1,600 members, twelve corporate supporters and very little interest from the press, which is also essential and helps us a lot. So that was the situation I encountered. I must say that the Museum was still in its infancy, with a structure that was very similar to the time of its foundation and little more. Really, little more.
Member of the Royal Board of Trustees of the Museo del Prado, appointed personally in 1993.
