In general, I nearly always try and see Velázquez. And, in principle, Velázquez is not a painter of just one kind of work. He is one of the few artists in which we find that really all of his works are of considerable interest. You cannot really exclude any of them. The idea that I have connected somehow with Velázquez is something that always brings me great pleasure.
Trustee of the Friends of the Museo del Prado Foundation since 1994, he is responsible for the Jerónimos extension from 2000 to 2007.
