The scene takes place in front of the door of the church of El Salvador in Seville, with numerous devotees to the left and right. In the centre, girls dressed for First Communion, alongside with a Franciscan, are visible. On the landing of the stairs of the temple, more devotees and another Franciscan are carrying the banner of the Immaculate Conception and several processional lanterns. Oil grisaille created for a double-page photogravure in La Ilustración Española y Americana [Spanish and American Illustration], No. XX, published on 30 May 1897, on pages 328 and 329.
