Inmaculada Echeverría Elvira, Head of the Technical Documentation and Laboratory Section, 1985-2024
My personal relationship with the Art Handler team is one of true friendship. For my service area, the work done by the Art Handler team was, is and will continue to be essential all lifelong. I remember the first heads of the team: Desiderio, Adeba, Sacristán. We took pictures together, collaborating a lot. The people have changed, but for instance Manolo Montero and Ángel Campos were trained with the first Art Handler team I knew. Rather than friends it's as if they were family, our brothers, it even goes on with all the newly incorporated members. First of all because you've lived through many things with them. They have to help us with equestrian portraits because physically we can't move them on our own. They almost know how to prepare the documentation, i.e., how the X-ray film has to be placed. Yesterday we did it with Philip IV. They know what their job is and we enjoy ourselves.
Member of the Technical Office, she began her work at the Museum thanks to a grant to study and analyze the works of El Greco.
