Inmaculada Echeverría Elvira, Head of the Technical Documentation and Laboratory Section, 1985-2024
I remember they used to impress me because of their uniforms and all that. They were very respectful. I knew practically all the concierges. Espejo, Pedro Sobrino, and we had a good relationship. Pedro Sobrino was a very special person, the boss, and he did an excellent job. He was a very important character. Right after the director, but he was basically in charge of the Museum. Everybody respected him. Not only the guards or people from various departments and trades, but also Manuela Mena and Pérez Sánchez, who respected each other. He was a very important person and he lived right there at the Prado Museum, in the adjoining home, so the Museum was basically his home. And they felt it that way. Not that the concierges owned the Museum, but it was their home.
Member of the Technical Office, she began her work at the Museum thanks to a grant to study and analyze the works of El Greco.
