Frame of Flores con una vela y un papel
First quarter of the XIX century. Carved, Water gilding, Ensamblado a media madera.Room 039
The most remarkable features of this “Charles IV Labourer” frame are the carved pearl beading running along the inner moulding and the pointed leaves along the outer moulding. It was designed by architect Isidro González Velázquez in around 1804, to give the paintings in the Casita del Príncipe at the palace of Aranjuez a more uniform appearance. The frame was produced by the cabinetmaker Pablo Palencia and gilded by Andrés del Peral.
