I worked with Rocío Arnáez, who was a key figure for me because she was the one who showed us the Museum every week, hall by hall. Thus, all my knowledge of the Museum I really owe to Rocío. I think it’s a mistake that this practice hasn’t continued, because I think that for the interns or for people who have joined with a contract, it’s essential to get to know the Museum, and people don’t really know it. We went round every week according to department or school; we looked at the paintings and then we studied them on our own and extended the knowledge that they’d passed on to us. For me, that period was fundamental.
She joined the Museo del Prado with one year of experience as a trainee, later going on to review the material of the permanent collection ("Prado disperso"). She joined the Temporary Exhibition Service and later worked in the Permanent Collection where it is responsible for remodeling the rooms and controlling the movements of the works of art.
