The Prado: a political football

Once of the problems that existed at the time, but was corrected later, was that the Prado became a political football. You realized that people weren’t really that interested in the Museo del Prado, but any incident, such as whether there were leaks in the roof, or any other aspect, became a reason to attack the governing party. One of the things I fought for was to achieve political agreement. Fortunately, we managed to prevent it from becoming a spurious debate, one that might make the situation even worse. Since then, there has been peace on the political front, which I believe is extremely important.
