The same elsewhere
1810 - 1814. Wash, Burin, Etching, Drypoint on laid paper. Not on display
This print The same elsewhere (Disasters of War, 23) focuses on the most savage side of war. Goya employs great detail to depict a pile of corpses on the ground alongside their weapons. Their dramatic expressions and disjointed poses are comparable to the dead bodies in The 2nd of May (P000748). The title refers to the frequency of scenes of this type during the Peninsular War.
